Situated 69km SE of Melbourne on Western Port Bay approximately 11km from Hastings and 7km from Balnarring, Stony Point is the ideal spot to relax and enjoy a bit of fishing.
Once the centre of communication by land and sea for the whole of Western Port, all rail and ferry traffic began and ended at Stony Point. The produce of the fisherman and farmers who made up most of the population could be seen daily making its way to distant markets.
From Stony Point the visitor today can explore the whole of the Mornington Peninsula including the galleries, cycling tracks, wineries or enjoy a game of golf on one of the many courses on the Peninsula. Cerberus golf course is only 2km from Stony Point.
Stony Point Caravan Park has 50 powered sites, many of these are used by our regular annuals. There are 2 On site Vans and 4 Cabins. In the camping area we have a small camp kitchen. The park is situated within a short distance of the three lane Stony Point boat ramp.
From the jetty at Stony Point passenger ferries leave to both French Island and Philip Island, and there is a rail service from Melbourne with the station a short walk from the caravan park.
The park is operated by Crib Point Stony Point Foreshore Committee of Management Inc., a group of local volunteers appointed by the Department of Sustainability and Environment to manage the area of foreshore Crown Land from Jacks Beach Reserve to Stony Point .
We do recommend that you ring to book in advance as over the summer months we are usually booked out early.
Our resident managers are always on hand to assist and make your stay enjoyable.
